You Don’t Need to Be Less or More to Be Loved

Valentine’s Day has a way of surfacing quiet questions we don’t always name.

Am I too much?
Am I hard to understand?
Would life be easier—for me, or for others—if I were simpler? Had less dreams?

If you’re multipassionate, these questions don’t just show up in relationships.
They show up everywhere.

In how you work.
In how you explain yourself.
In how often you apologize for changing your mind.

This isn’t a love problem.

It’s an acceptance problem—and not the kind you think.

The Myth That Sneaks Into Relationships

Many multipassionates learn early that being “easy to love” means being:

  • consistent

  • predictable

  • focused on one thing

  • emotionally contained

So you try to compress yourself.

You pick a version of you that feels more digestible.
You downplay your curiosity.
You hesitate to share what you’re excited about—because what if it changes?

But love doesn’t deepen through simplification.

It deepens through being seen accurately.

Why Multipassionates Feel “Too Much”

When your mind works in layers, your emotional world does too.

You feel deeply.
You connect dots quickly.
You change as you learn.

That can feel destabilizing to people who rely on sameness for safety.

So somewhere along the way, you may have learned:

“I’ll be more lovable if I’m less… me.”

But the right kind of love doesn’t ask you to shrink.
It asks you to bring coherence, not compression.

What Secure Love Actually Needs

Secure love—romantic or otherwise—doesn’t require you to:

  • know exactly who you are forever

  • explain every shift perfectly

  • stay the same version of yourself

It requires:

  • honesty about where you are right now

  • communication about change as it happens

  • permission to evolve without guilt

Hey, listen here, okay?

You are not hard to love because you are complex.

You are lovable because you are alive, evolving, curious, and real.

The goal is never to be easy to define.
The goal is to be fully present in your own life.

Happy Valentine’s Day—especially to the parts of you you were taught to hide. 💗

Hi there, I'm Monterey!

I’m a multipassionate mentor and course creator who helps creatives, dreamers, and “I-have-50-tabs-open-in-my-brain” people build lives and businesses that finally fit them.

For the last decade, I’ve been studying, testing, breaking, rebuilding, and refining systems that help multipassionates focus, follow through, and turn their ideas into real, sustainable wins. I’ve walked through the overwhelm, the burnout, the “maybe I’m just not built for this” spiral — and I learned how to turn my many passions into a strength instead of a stumbling block.

I’ve had plenty of entrepreneurial flops (the kind that didn’t light up the world, just my credit card). But those experiences helped me understand how I actually operate. Once I cracked the code on my rhythm, everything shifted — and now my work is helping others do the same with far less trial and error.

If you’re building a life that can hold all of who you are, you’re in the right place.
